13 Rescued as Petrol Tanker explodes in Delta State
Thirteen persons have been rescued alive after a petroleum laden tanker went up in flames at the Agbarho community section of the East West road in Delta state.
The explosion occured on sunday 15 may when a Toyota Sienna and a Hilux collided near the petrol landed tanker which reportedly broke down close to the immigration junction.
According to eye witnesses, the collision between the Sienna and the Hilux was due to excessive speed.
Sector commander of the federal road safety corps (FRSC) in the state, Mr Udeme Eshiet who confirmed the accident in Asaba. He said the three vehicles were consumed in the explosion while 13 persons in the vehicles were rescued without any injury.
Udeme lamented the reckless driving of motorists even at night.
